My darling Audrey on your first birthday,
I love you so much and you have brought so much joy and healing into our lives. For the all of the rush you showed entering this world, I cannot thank you for the patience of your spirit as I learned how to be a mother of two and with your sister as she learned how to be a big sister and show her love for you.
Last year, I was holding a brand new you wondering who you would become. This year I can see a glimpse of the person you will become and my heart couldn’t be more proud.
This year has been fueled by cuddles and giggles, rather than sleep, and I will forever cherish those quiet hours spent feeling your little weight against me and listening to your soft snoring. I pray you will ALWAYS know you can find safety, comfort, love, and understanding in my arms.
You have done so much in this first year of life! You have flown on 3 airplanes, visited one new country (Cayman Islands), and two major US cities (Atlanta and Washington DC); and you were a trooper through all of it. Your excitement to explore and discover promises the continued fun of watching you grow and learn. Although your determination to climb everything may give me a heart attack if it continues.
For as calm as you are through many things, you have made your dislike of car rides clear. But Munchie, you need to learn how to ride in your carseat/the car because you have many years of it still ahead of you.
Thank you for teaching me that I am not broken. Thank you for the love I see in your eyes when you look at me; I try every day to be deserving of it. Thank you for being my little girl.
You are a blessing to my heart and our family. I love you past the moon, to the stars, and back again.
